Introduction
This species, split into two local subspecific forms, was recently described from puna grasslands 2600-3200 m. in the province of Cajamarca, Peru. It is the furthest northward-occurring member of the "south temperate clade" of Pronophilina, most of whose species occur in Chile and Argentina.References
